Join us for a special weekend to deepen your spiritual practice and connect with other truth-seekers. This retreat is for current Kriyabans or disciples of Paramhansa Yogananda, or those who are ready to take either Kriya Yoga Initiation or Discipleship during the retreat.
We’ll start off on Thursday evening with dinner and satsang, and finish on Sunday morning with a Sunday Service and lunch. In between we will have classes, a kirtan, group energizations and meditations, a Discipleship ceremony, and time to enjoy the natural beauty of the grounds.
On Saturday evening will be the Kriya Yoga Initiation (an alternate program will be provided for anyone not ready to take initiation). If you will be taking initiation for the first time (or if you want to verify your status as an eligible Kriyaban), contact Kriya Minister Devarshi at kriyayoga@ananda.org as well as retreat coordinator Kevin Allen at kallenlmt@zoomtown.com. Also contact Kevin for any questions about Kriya Initiation, Discipleship, or the retreat in general.
About the Ministers
We are very happy to welcome Lightbearers Durga and Vidura Smallen, from Ananda Village, California, as our retreat leaders for this very special retreat.
Durga and Vidura are founding members of Ananda.
They came to Ananda in 1974 with their two children, after searching for years for a community that would embrace spiritual principles, offer creative and uplifting schools, and a new way of life. Their roles over the years have been many: in construction, the meditation retreat, the on-site print shop, macramé business, and Crystal Clarity Publishers. Between them they’ve been general contractors, community managers, school teachers, retreat center managers, and General Managers of Ananda Worldwide.
From 1986 through 2006 Durga and Vidura led month-long pilgrimages to India with Asha and David Praver and in 2006 moved to India as part of the staff there to help create with Swami Kriyananda and others a new center there for Paramhansa Yogananda. For the last four years, they have served in Portland, OR, Los Angeles Ca and now back at the Village: Vidura in the building arts and Durga co-managing our month-long new members’ program, Living Discipleship.
What they bring is a sense of spiritual community through their attunement with and love of these teachings. With humor, devotion, and deep commitment to these timeless Truths, they are thrilled to share this time with other devotees.
